Can Dogs Sniff Cancer? - Summary

Evidently dogs can identify bladder cancer with some success by sniffing the patient's urine. Their success rate (41%)implies that other means that are more reliable will need to be developed to identify patients with bladder cancer. However, it does indicate that the cancer produces aromatic chemicals that may be identifiable with other means, and are not masked by the many other aromatic compounts in urine.
