Alleviating Menopausal Symptoms - Summary
Unfortunately, if you have menopausal symptoms, there is no panacea that will serve as a remedy. Women who take HRT in order to alleviate menopausal symptoms usually end up just postponing the symptoms. The additional health risk resulting from HRT may not be worth the questionable positive results that just postpone the symptoms for one in every two women.
In a separate series, we provide evidence that alternative medicine (natural remedies) has not been found to be effective in alleviating menopausal symptoms.
The most frequent strategies tried by women with menopausal symptoms were drinking more fluids or increasing exercising. More than 86% of the women who tried these strategies reported that that they helped to reduce the symptoms. At this time, this is the only positive suggestion we can make to the women undegoing these problems.
