Salt and Diet Impact on Hypertension
The data is clear - if you have a normal blood pressure, you can indulge in salt as much as you please. The "movement" to reduce salt for the population at large is just another one of those misguided (and controlling!) movements that tend to rob us of the little pleasures of life! The DASH diet is a different issue - we have already dealt with this in the framework of our Mediterranean diet writeup, and it is known to confer significant benefits, with a magnitude similar to those provided by taking statins.
