Now lets repeat "The Experiment" 1000 times. This is easy to do with computers, but in practice, imagine having to go through and document 100,000 (1000x100) tosses...

In all good experiments, one keeps notes. The notes we (your PC) are going to keep are:

In how many experiments did we get each number of heads? -

e.g., how many times did we get 41 heads, how many times did we get 42 heads, etc. For simplicity, we will do this in bins that are 5 units wide:
If in one of the experiments (100 tosses) we get "43 heads" we collect the result in the 41-45 bin ("add 1" to this bin). If we get 59, we add 1 to the 55-60 bin.

Try it: Click the "1000 Expt" button to perform 1000 experiments of 100 tosses each -

Average Number of Heads in 100 tosses is:

Number of Heads 30-34 35-39 40-44 45-49 50-54 55-59 60-64 65-69
Number of Times

Try clicking again several times, to see whether the numbers change significantly when you repeat the series of 1000 experiments
